For patients

"Your prescription needs a prior authorization." We can help.

That message usually means your insurance plan wants more information before it will pay. We work with your doctor and your pharmacy to get it, and we keep you informed until there is an answer.

What a prior authorization is, in plain words

Some insurance plans ask your doctor to explain why you need a certain medication before they agree to cover it. That request is the prior authorization. Until it is approved, the pharmacy cannot bill your plan, so the prescription waits.

1

Reach out

Tell us your medication, your doctor, and your pharmacy. Your pharmacy or doctor can also send it to us for you.

2

We contact your doctor

We help your doctor's office send the plan the information it asks for.

3

We keep you posted

You will hear from us as things move, so you are never left wondering.

4

You pick it up

When the plan says yes, we let you and your pharmacy know right away.

While you wait

Please do not stop taking your medicine on your own.

  • Ask your pharmacist whether a short supply or a covered alternative is possible while the request is pending.
  • Call your doctor if you are running out or feel worse. Your health comes first.
  • Keep your insurance card handy. The member ID helps everything move faster.

In a medical emergency, call 911.

Stuck on a prior authorization?

Send it our way. We take it from the rejection to the decision, and you pay only if it is approved.
